Located outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the Talamore Country Club Banquet Halls was a two-phased project that converted what had once been 19th century horse stables into a proper clubhouse befitting of a Ree Jones-designed golf course on behalf of Robert Levy, then co-owner of the Philadelphia Phillies. I cut my teeth - among other things working closely with Mr. Levy and rather enjoyed his no-nonsense/get it done approach, his contractor, and under the direction and mentorship of Ashly Spearman of Spearman Associates, Ltd, the first architect that I worked for after graduating from architecture school. Sadly, Mr. Levy passed away in 2018; however, Talamore, among many of his accomplishments over the course of a distinguished career that made Philly all the more enjoyable, will always top my list.
