El Capitan was a 35,000 SF four-story type VB addition (on the left of photo) to the historic 1922 El Capitan Hotel (on the right of photo) built in Merced, California for a private developer. The Architect of Record was BAR Architects, the General Contractor was Swinerton Builders, and the structural & fire protection firm was by Holmes Structural & Fire Engineering. The delivery method was design-bid-build, with my role being Project Manager tasked with taking over the CA phase as a 1099-independant contractor to BAR Architects.
